Mid-Missouri Fisher House

As the local partner for the national Fisher House Foundation, we share the belief that a family’s love is good medicine. By Spring of 2023, we will be opening a Fisher House in Columbia Missouri on the Truman Memorial Veterans’ (VA) Hospital campus. This beautiful living space will accommodate up to 16 families of veterans at any given time, providing a no-cost place to stay for those traveling to Truman VA Hospital.
This is a desperately needed service in the mid-Missouri area. Annually, Truman VA Hospital serves nearly 40,000 veterans, many traveling from as far as eight hours away to receive treatment. Since some veterans are unable to travel alone and, even more understandably, don’t want to, they rely on family and friends to get them to and from the Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital. Unfortunately, we see a number of veterans foregoing treatment altogether because of the costs associated with an extended stay.
